October 2010

Jane-twinney

So this is it…just under 25 days until the election! I want to thank everyone who has shown their support for my campaign. I have had emails, phone calls, donations, and requests for signs from so many people which have left me with such an incredible feeling of gratitude. Hopefully I am going to win and I can continue on supporting the residents of Ward 3 and Newmarket in a fashion that you expect from your councillor. The next 3 weeks is going to be crucial and I will be out everyday knocking on doors. My goal is to meet as many residents as possible in person. I need your support as well by telling your neighbours and friends and ensuring that they get out and vote on October 25th or before at the Advanced Polls that are available. This past Thursday, I attended the Newmarket Chamber “Meet the Candidate” Event at the Newmarket High School. There were many more candidates this time at this event compared to last election. Residents of Newmarket want to see some new faces that can bring new ideas and initiative to council. They want to see a balanced council that represents the demographic of Newmarket. They want to see change. So many residents were coming up to me that I have never met to tell me they are supporting me and hope that I will be elected. I was determined last election that I was not going to give up and that I would come back to run again. I think many residents want to see that you are committed to the position and I do believe that this time they do see that I am.
I have been working hard during the last four years as well as during the campaign period; doing literature drops since March, knocking on doors since July and setting up my own Meet and Greet at Cedarview Lodge Retirement Residences. This is my work ethic that I will be taking with me if elected and you can be reassured that you will not just see me in another 4 years. I want to work with you to make Ward 3 a better place to live. To ensure that are parks , such as Van Zant park is updated and improved, that speeding issues are resolved, that our tax dollars are being spent wisely and that you are updated with regular communication through ward wide newsletters and ward wide meetings. I cannot do this without your support and your vote on October 25th.
