Thank You

A big thanks to so many people that I know and have come to know along this campaign trail.  Without the 1400 residents who came out and cast their vote against my name, I wouldn’t have the opportunity that I now have ahead of me to make Ward 3 and Newmarket an even better place to live.  I am so excited to work with you and I will need your support as well to make it happen.

I am humbled by the number of emails, phone calls and messages on Facebook and Twitter these past two days.  It is unbelievable! I have tried to return every phone call and email, but just in case I missed some please know that I am truly thankful.

Just to update you on “the next steps”, as I know many of you have asked.  The next term of council does not start until December 1st.  I will be attending workshops, orientations etc., at the end of November to get my feet wet and to get everything set up.  The inauguration Council is Monday December 6th at 7pm.  I would love to have any of you attend, if you so desire.  Being a new councillor, there is lots to find out at the start, but I am keen and ready to jump right in.  I will spend the first month or two getting my head wrapped around as much as I can and will start addressing some of the issues, concerns and plans that I would like to see in the New Year.

Most of all, I want to thank you the residents, who have put their trust in me and my friends and family who have helped out so much these past few months.  Most importantly though, I have to thank my husband who has stood by me through the ups and downs of this campaign, and has never wavered his confidence that I could win this election.

In the next couple of months, I plan on changing my website to a Councillor/Ward 3 and Newmarket information website as opposed to a “Candidate” website.  So you may see some changes going on with this.  I plan to continue with my blog along with my calendar so you have an idea of what is going on.  I also encourage you to email me if you have any suggestions that you would like to see on here as well.

Thank you again and I look forward to serving you in the next 4 years.

Jane Twinney
