Serving as your Ward 3 Councillor has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Every decision I make is guided by one simple principle: put residents first.

Proudly Calling Ward 3 Home

A Newmarket resident since 2000 and a proud Ward 3 resident for 22 years, with a strong connection to the neighbourhoods and community I represent.

Leadership at the Town

Served on numerous Town boards and committees, including two terms as Chair of Central York Fire Services, the Newmarket Public Library Board, Accessibility Advisory Committee, Newmarket Seniors' Meeting Place Board, Audit Committee and the Newmarket Environmental Committee.

A Strong Record of Community Involvement

Has been a member of Community Living, Bereaved Families of York Region, school parent councils, and the Newmarket Baseball Association, and is now a member of the Newmarket Garden Club and the York Region Food Network Board.

Creating Newmarket's Bike Day

Created Bike to Work Day, which has grown into Newmarket's Bike Day and will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year, promoting cycling, active transportation and community participation.

Newmarket's Off Leash Dog Park

Initiated the creation of Newmarket's only off leash dog park, providing residents with a dedicated space to exercise and socialize with their dogs.

Frank Hollingsworth Arena Lands

Successfully advocated for the preservation and future development of the Frank Hollingsworth Arena lands, ensuring this valuable community asset continues to serve Ward 3 residents for generations to come.

Infill Neighbourhood Compatibility Policy

Championed a new infill neighbourhood compatibility policy to protect the character of our established neighbourhoods while allowing for thoughtful, responsible growth.

Playground Improvements & Pickleball Courts

Secured funding and approvals for playground improvements and new pickleball courts across Ward 3, giving families and seniors more opportunities to stay active and connected.

Community Safety & Traffic Calming

Worked with residents and town staff to implement traffic calming measures and improve community safety in key Ward 3 neighbourhoods.

George Richardson Park Advocacy

Advocated strongly for improvements to George Richardson Park, ensuring it remains a vibrant green space for Ward 3 families.

Accessible and Responsive Representation

Committed to being accessible to Ward 3 residents, listening to concerns, meeting residents in their neighbourhoods and working with Town staff to find solutions and get results.
