Working for Ward 3
Serving as your Ward 3 Councillor has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Every decision I make is guided by one simple principle: put residents first.
I believe the best communities are built by listening, being accessible, and working collaboratively to find practical solutions that protect what makes our neighbourhoods special while planning responsibly for the future.
Throughout my time on Council, I have worked to deliver meaningful improvements that enhance our quality of life and strengthen our community. I have championed the protection of the Frank Hollingsworth Arena lands, helping secure the vision for a vibrant community park with water play, winter ice amenities, playgrounds, and open green space for residents of all ages.
I also championed policy changes to better protect established neighbourhoods by strengthening compatibility requirements for new infill homes. These changes help ensure that redevelopment respects the character, scale, and identity of existing neighbourhoods while supporting thoughtful growth.
Working alongside local school boards and Town staff, I have advocated for improvements to neighbourhood playgrounds so children and families have safe, modern places to gather and play. I also supported bringing Newmarket's first pickleball courts to Ward 3, giving residents convenient access to one of Canada's fastest growing sports.
Community safety has always been a priority. I continue to advocate for safer streets, improved pedestrian infrastructure, and traffic calming measures that make our neighbourhoods safer for everyone.
I was also proud to stand alongside Ward 3 residents in ensuring our community's concerns were heard regarding proposed connections between East Gwillimbury and Newmarket through the George Richardson Park area. Protecting the character and safety of our neighbourhoods has always been one of my guiding priorities.
Strong communities are built through collaboration. Whether working with residents, community organizations, schools, businesses, or fellow members of Council, I believe the best outcomes come from listening, building consensus, and taking action.
As your Councillor, I remain committed to being accessible, transparent, and accountable while continuing to advocate for the priorities that matter most to Ward 3 residents. Together, we can continue building a safe, vibrant, and connected community that we are proud to call home.

As a Board Member of the York Region Food Network, Jane is committed to supporting initiatives that improve food security, strengthen community partnerships, and ensure individuals and families have access to healthy, nutritious food. She is also proud to support the Newmarket Food Pantry and the dedicated volunteers who make a meaningful difference in our community every day.
